West Australian fashion label Empire Rose is the artistic expression of designer, Kathryn Cizeika. Established in 1998 and celebrating 24 years in business in 2022, the label continues to blaze a trail in the Australian fashion industry and its increasing success is testament to Cizeika’s ability to create covetable pieces that are instantly desirable, effortlessly cool and supremely wearable.
The brand is defined by Cizeika’s signature style and displays a distinctive handwriting that is evident across each collection. Living a life of both purpose and pleasure speaks to the duality of what it is to be a modern woman and resonates with lovers of the label. Cizeika’s inherently individual style hasn’t gone unnoticed internationally, with iconic women such as Beyonce, Roberta Flack, Yoko Ono, and Michelle Williams all joining the cult following. Dramatic pieces that play with structure, volume and texture exude elegance and sophistication for striking entrances and events, whilst sports-luxe pieces encourage relaxation and ease for daily life and serious downtime. The combination of the two attitudes creates the signature Empire Rose style.
Empire Rose is proudly designed, produced and retailed in Cizeika’s North Fremantle studio and shop, ensuring the highest quality and exceptional fit with each and every garment. One of the few labels in the West Australian fashion industry that continues to ethically produce 100% of garments in house; Cizeika is widely recognised as an unwavering champion of the local industry. Providing jobs and rare on-site training and mentorship opportunities to fashion and design students, the Empire Rose studio is a daily hive of activity combining the expertise of artisan pattern makers and seamstresses with the fresh perspective and enthusiasm of students on the precipice of their fashion careers.
